About the Role

We’re looking for an Assistant Financial Accountant to join our small, friendly Finance team. This is a key supporting role that helps ensure our financial systems and processes run smoothly. You’ll work across a range of areas including staff expenses, corporate cards, banking, reconciliations and monthly reporting. It’s a varied role with the chance to get involved in all aspects of finance and to develop further in your career.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage staff expense claims and corporate card processes using our expense system (Pleo)
  • Assist with banking, donation counting and general financial administration
  • Support with month-end close activities, including reconciliations and journal uploads
  • Provide back-up support for purchase ledger and accounts receivable tasks
  • Carry out bank reconciliations and support with external audit preparation
  • Help maintain finance records in line with data protection and record retention policies

About You

In this role, you’ll be organised, accurate and enjoy working with numbers. You’ll have experience working in an admin or finance setting and be confident using Excel and Outlook. You’ll also be a good communicator and team player, able to work flexibly across a variety of tasks and happy to support colleagues when needed.

Key Qualities, Skills, and Experience

  • Good numeracy and computer skills, especially in Excel
  • Experience of admin work, ideally within a finance setting
  • An interest in finance, bookkeeping or accounting
  • Good attention to detail and ability to manage your time
  • Willingness to learn and contribute to continuous improvement
